  • The Colour Monster

    Published 10/11/20

In PSHE this term we are thinking about our feelings and emotions and have been exploring the wonderful book- 'The Colour Monster' by Anna Llenas. The friendly and relatable monster in this book changes colour according to his emotions.

    Green: calm

    Blue: sadness

    Yellow: happiness

    Pink: love

    Red: anger

    Black: fear

The children have been very sensible whilst sharing their different emotions and making our very own colour monsters this afternoon, allowed an opportunity to talk and reflect. We shall be talking to our colour monsters throughout the term to tell them how we are feeling and share our thoughts with them. We shall also be thinking about how to manage different emotions and how to look after each other.

  • Bonjour Amazon Class!

    Published 24/10/20

This week we have been practising our French greetings in class. The children have thoroughly enjoyed holding a brief conversation with their friends. You will notice that your child has brought home a French vocabulary grid to practise conversational French with their families during the half term break. We look forward to learning even more vocabulary after half term.

Wishing you a wonderful and safe break.

  • Rhythm in the Woods

    Published 20/10/20

Towards the end of term we have been thinking about our listening skills and how important it is to be good listeners in order to learn.

To practise our listening skills, we enjoyed a rhythm activity in the woods where the children had to listen carefully to the rhythm and repeat this on their drum. We then told a lyrical call and repeat story called 'Bear in the Woods' which was great fun.

Keep practising those listening skills at home!
