The School That Can
Last week the whole school from Nursery through to Year 6 took part in a special project called ‘The School that Can’ to build community within the school.
Each class read the story ‘The Koala that Could’ which is about a koala called Kevin who likes to keep things the same. Exactly the same. It teaches that sometimes change comes along whether we like it or not... And, as Kevin discovers, if you step outside your comfort zone and try new things, you might just surprise yourself! And at Stanton this is something with nurture our children to do and it was lovely to see everyone so engaged and excited to return to school, even though it has changed. Everyone then made a Koala piece of art for display. In each class, we created displays called ‘The Class that Can’ with targets for the year to encourage us to have a CAN-DO attitude and support each other.
